Hydrogen Powered Cars and TNT

BMW has been researching alternative drive concepts for decades. One of the fundamental components of all life is playing a significant role here as a possible source of energy. It is available in inexhaustible quantities and produces no pollutants or carbon dioxide in combustion - the ideal fuel.

We are of course talking about hydrogen which - once it has replaced crude oil - will be the means to the emission-free car. Hydrogen can be produced from water by electrolysis. The special attraction: it oxidises in combustion cleanly back to water; all that comes out of the exhaust is harmless water vapour. A prime example of a cycle in which virtually unlimited supplies are available if solar energy is used as a source of energy for the production of hydrogen.

BMW proves: we have the technology. We now have to work on the infrastructure and make hydrogen available as a fuel everywhere. The Munich Airport hydrogen project is a first step.

In future, the increasing volume of traffic would no longer have negative global consequences. The "Freude am Fahren" with H2 is not connected with disadvantages for the enviroment.
